Sam Kinne is a trial lawyer with a practice focused on complex, high-stakes personal injury cases that other lawyers often refuse to touch. Competitive by nature, Sam’s advocacy for his clients does not waver when cases become difficult—it sharpens. He routinely represents individuals and families facing catastrophic loss and brings a disciplined, trial-ready approach to every matter he handles.
Over the course of his career, Sam has handled a broad range of serious personal injury and wrongful death cases, including catastrophic workplace and industrial accidents, commercial vehicle crashes, maritime injuries, medical malpractice, premises liability, and product defect claims. His experience includes cases arising from electrocutions, refinery and construction accidents, multi-vehicle pileups, defective products, surgical errors, drownings, slip-and-fall incidents, and sexual misconduct. Sam has litigated cases in both state and federal courts in Texas, Colorado, Virginia, Arizona, and Missouri, achieving successful results through trial and settlement.
Sam grew up in Katy, Texas and earned his undergraduate degree from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin in 2017. He returned to Houston to earn his Juris Doctor from the University of Houston Law Center in 2021. After law school, Sam began his career practicing securities litigation with a New York-based law firm, where he developed a strong foundation in complex litigation, motion practice, and case strategy. He transitioned to plaintiff-side personal injury litigation in 2022 at a prominent Houston firm, where he focused on wrongful death and catastrophic injury cases before joining Sorrels Law in 2026.
Sam adeptly navigates the legal and procedural complexities of serious injury litigation so his clients do not have to. He understands the physical, emotional, and financial strain that catastrophic injuries place on individuals and families, and he approaches each case with careful preparation, clear communication, and relentless advocacy. His focus is on accountability, results, and positioning every case as if it will be tried to a jury.
Outside the courtroom, Sam enjoys attending Houston Rockets, Texans, and Astros games, playing recreational sports, and making music with friends. His connection to Houston and respect for the people who live and work here drive his commitment to achieving the best possible outcomes for his clients.
