Recall on Costco teak shower benches after reports of breaks causing injuries

Costco is recalling about 70,000 Ivena brand teak shower benches because they can collapse and break unexpectedly during use. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission Website has posted a recall notice reporting 81 incidents of collapsing benches, falling apart or breaking during use. At least four people have been injured in falls.

The recall states that consumers should immediately stop using the Ivena brand shower benches and return them to Costco where they will receive a full refund. Purchasers will also be contacted directly by Costco. More information can be found in the CPSC’s recall notice.
