Brian H. Tew, M.D, J.D.

Brian H. Tew, M.D, J.D. is both a medical doctor and a lawyer. His experience as a medical doctor and both a lawyer representing hospitals, doctors and nurses, AND representing victims of medical malpractice is second to none in Texas. Having a doctor/lawyer on the side of the injured victim is a game changer. He will not be outsmarted or outworked. Jurors have paid him the highest compliment because he often is the most educated in the room, but his demeanor with witnesses and clients make him among the most likeable in the courtroom.

Dr. Tew attended Lamar University, majoring in biology and chemistry, and graduated with Honors. He went on to attend medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center – San Antonio, and followed that with an internship at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. While practicing medicine, Dr. Tew worked extensively in emergency medicine, trauma and later as a long-term care medical director. He comes from a family of doctors including his father, one of his brothers and his sister.

Dr. Tew attended law school at the University of Houston Law Center and upon graduation immediately started practicing at a prominent litigation firm, where he specialized in medical malpractice defense and general liability defense cases. After rising to the ranks of partner, he ventured out to work on the victim’s side of the docket. Both in partnership with others, and as a solo practitioner, Dr. Tew has litigated 20 trials and taken hundreds of depositions. He also practiced with an established mass tort law firm on a national pharmaceutical litigation docket heading up many of the science and medicine subgroups.

Today, Dr. Tew enjoys the practice of law representing those who most need a voice of knowledge and education when handling their medical malpractice case.
