Nick Wagoner

Partner

Nick Wagoner is a Texas trial lawyer who tries cases to verdict. Most recently, he won back-to-back jury trials for his injured clients in Dallas and Harris Counties in 2026. In March, a Dallas County jury returned a unanimous verdict twenty-eight times the insurer’s final settlement offer. Four months later, a Harris County jury returned a verdict above the policy limits in a contested-liability case.

Nick began his career on the defense side. For three years, he defended employers in state and federal courts across Texas. That work taught him the playbook insurers and corporate defendants run. He now runs that playbook in reverse.

In 2015, Nick opened his own personal injury practice in Dallas. For a decade, he ran every phase of his docket himself, including:

  • depositions and expert work;
  • motions, hearings, and mediations;
  • jury selection and trial; and
  • collection of the judgment.

He joined Sorrels Law as a partner in 2026.

Nick graduated cum laude from South Texas College of Law Houston in 2011. There he served as Managing Editor of the South Texas Law Review. His scholarship has appeared in the Fordham Law Review and the Florida Law Review.

Before law school, Nick earned a B.B.A. in Finance and Entrepreneurship from Baylor University.

Nick lives in Houston. Outside the office, he plays pickleball, reads thrillers, and is active in his church.
